Mickey Mouse Basic Addition

My kids are MAD about Disney at the moment. They have been painting all of the Disney characters and love the Disney music that I play in the room. My preps are starting to become much more confident when adding numbers together up to 10 but I wanted to push them a little bit more to see how they would go to 20. To keep with their Disney madness, I made this game up using their beloved Mickey Mouse ears. The head piece has a numeral on it and there are separate ear pieces which have white dots on it. Number Boggle

I am constantly looking for new ways for my Year 1s to practice their basic addition facts. The kids have been playing a boggle style game making words out of the letters. I decided to mix things up a bit and give them some number boggle cards. Instead of making words, they make sums from the numbers (both addition and subtraction). The catch is that all the numbers for each sum must be touching - either by the sides or by the corners. Click here to open

Alphabet Color by Letter

These color by letter sheets are always popular in my classroom... I have them readily available as fast finisher activities and I offer them during "center" time. My kids love to color them in at the drawing table and since we don't do homework (we just do home reading and sight words), some of my keen students like taking them home to do while their older siblings do their homework.
