A Cute & Easy Way to Count the Days of School ๐ŸŒฟ

I love a classroom routine that looks cute but is actually doing some sneaky maths learning at the same time. ๐Ÿ˜‚ And that's exactly what this new little freebie is. If you keep track of how many days you've been at school with your students, you can turn that daily number into a really easy opportunity to practise counting, place value and number sense . And let's be honest - if we're going to count the days of school anyway , we may as well get some maths out of it! So... what's included? The first part is a simple Days in School counting mat . Students work out how many days you've been at school and represent the number using hundreds, tens and ones . Nothing complicated. Just a really easy way to get students thinking about the number rather than simply saying, “Today is Day 127!” And then there are the ten frames .
