A Christmas Freebie

Image
I'm starting to get ready for the new school year and that means making more games and resources to help teach and reinforce basic concepts. Here is a link to my TPT store where you can download this 1 to 5 number sorting activity for free. If you like it and want something a bit harder, I also have a set available for purchase with numbers from 1 to 20. I'm sure that over the next 2 weeks I'll be making a lot more games and activities... I'll post links to them and some freebies up here as I make them too. Enjoy the rest of the Holiday Season. Merry Christmas, Renee Click here for the 1 to 5 freebie Click Here to purchase the 1 to 20 sort

Initial Sound Sorting

Click here to get this product from Teachers Pay Teachers Every year there are always a couple of kids who seem to need lots of practice listening for and identifying the initial sound in words. This past year was no exception... It didn't matter how many activities I threw their way, they still needed more and more practice. I found a Build a Sandwich activity on Teachers Pay Teachers which worked a treat! It had different pictures for each sound and I could put out however many sandwich toppings I wanted. But I needed a couple of other activities to back it up. I made up some initial sound dominoes to match up the picture and sound, some cards to use magnet le...

Rhyming, Rhyming, Rhyming

Image
Some of my kiddos have really struggled with rhyming words this past year. The only thing we found that helped was to practice, practice and practice! Unfortunately that meant we grew bored of the few rhyming games that I had so it meant making up a heap of new ones. In the end, I made 3 new games/activities which gave us a break from the old ones... A bingo game, a sorting game and a matching game. Eventually they did get the hang of rhyming - but it took a lot of persistence and a lot of revision. I hope you find some of these activities useful with your kiddos.
